Find out what’s popular, relevant and easy to write plenty about then.. Twitter until ye canne Twitter nae more (Translation: Twitter the crap out of it, within reason).

If it’s popular people will search it, find yours and hopefully re tweet. Of course you should do this as much as you can.

3. Follow the Followers.

Someone follows you. You follow them right back if you aren’t already. Simple isn’t it? Yes, yes of course it is. Effective too.

4. Create a Relevant and Keyword Rich Twitter ID.

Unless you’re a leader in your Niche, well-known or very popular, using your real name isn’t very helpful.

If you have a website name that is short and sweet, not like make-money-online-today-for-free.com, then use that as your Twitter ID. Your business or website name are too long then, use your keywords you’re targeting.

If all else fails use your initials or first name and then put your keyword eg. @akonlinemoney. That would be mine, initials-wise.

The reason for choosing keyword names is rather obvious. First, you can show up in search results, if it’s your site name you’re building up your brand, people know what you’re about and other such things.

5. Leech Others Popularity.

If you want almost instantaneous results and can’t be bothered doing any work whatsoever.

Go to: http://twitterholic.com/. And Follow everything and everyone you see infront of you.

They’re popular, you’re not.. use that too your advantage.
